MC1393776: Dynamics 365 Business Central - Configure cross-geography data movement for Copilot and agents

We are announcing that Business Central environments on version 28.0 or later can process Copilot and agent requests using Azure OpenAI resources hosted in a different Azure geography than the Business Central environment itself. This update will be active beginning July 1, 2026.

How does this affect me?
To support this change, a new Allow data movement setting has been added to the Copilot & agent capabilities page and is enabled by default.

What do I need to do to prepare?
To continue using Copilot and agent features, leave this setting enabled. If your organization does not allow cross-geography data movement, turn the setting off. When disabled, Copilot and agent features will no longer be available.
