MC1156317: Windows 365: Optimized management of Cloud PCs

Windows 365 is updating its service responsibility language to provide greater transparency into the continuous service management operations that ensure Cloud PCs remain reliable, secure, scalable, and sustainable. These operations have always been part of the Windows 365 experience and occur seamlessly, requiring no action from users or administrators. This is not a change in behavior; we are simply providing additional context to clarify how these operations support the service.
How will this affect your organization:
Windows 365 leverages Azure infrastructure capabilities, such as hibernation. These operations are typically performed when a Cloud PC is not in use, are seamless, and are non-disruptive for both users and administrators. An update to our service description to include additional information will be published in the near future.
As part of service management operations, the following may occur:
- When a user connects with a supported Windows 365 client, the Cloud PC will resume automatically, ensuring a smooth experience without extra steps.
- If an administrator performs Windows 365 service specific actions on a Cloud PC, it will resume automatically so that tasks can be completed as expected.
- In certain cases, some monitoring tools may temporarily display a Cloud PC as “offline” while it is hibernated. This is normal and does not indicate a problem. The Cloud PC will resume automatically when needed.
For the most accurate view of Cloud PC health, we recommend using the Cloud PC connectivity status report in the Intune admin center, which helps distinguish normal hibernation from actual connectivity issues.
What you need to do to prepare:
No action is required. These ongoing operations are non-disruptive and will be reflected in the upcoming revision of the Windows 365 service description page.
