Enhanced indexing for M365 Copilot connectors will start in mid-July 2025, completing by mid-September 2025. This update includes indexing comments and attachments for Azure DevOps, Confluence Cloud, Confluence On-Prem, and ServiceNow Knowledge, improving search results and M365 Copilot responses...

We’re introducing enhanced indexing capabilities for M365 Copilot connectors (formerly Graph connectors). This update enables indexing of comments and attachments, improving the quality and relevance of M365 Copilot responses and Microsoft Search results.

This enhancement applies to the following connectors:

  • Azure DevOps Work Items
  • Confluence Cloud
  • Confluence On-Prem
  • ServiceNow Knowledge

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): We will begin rolling out in mid-July 2025 and expect to complete by mid-September 2025.

How this will affect your organization:

Once the rollout is complete, existing connections for the supported connectors will automatically begin indexing comments and attachments. This means:

  • Improved search results: Users will be able to find more relevant content, including context-rich comments and attached files.
  • Enhanced M365 Copilot responses: M365 Copilot will have access to more comprehensive data, improving its ability to generate accurate and helpful answers.
  • Seamless integration: This functionality is integrated into our existing connectors, including Azure DevOps, ServiceNow and Confluence. We will add support for more connectors in the upcoming months.

This feature will be enabled by default. No configuration changes are required.

What you need to do to prepare:

No admin action is needed at this time. Updated documentation for each connector will be published closer to rollout:

We recommend informing your users about the improved search and M365 Copilot experience.
