We’re introducing Webhooks for Content Freshness in the Azure DevOps Work Items Copilot connector (formerly Graph connectors). This new capability enables near real-time indexing of content updates, ensuring your users receive the most relevant and up-to-date Copilot answers and search results.

When this will happen:

General Availability (Worldwide): Rollout will begin mid-July 2025 and is expected to complete by mid-September 2025.

How this affects your organization:

Once the feature is available, existing Azure DevOps Work Items connections will display an informational message prompting admins to enable webhooks. This is optional—your connector will continue to function without it—but enabling webhooks is strongly recommended for improved freshness of indexed content.

After reauthentication, the connector will automatically register webhooks in your data source, enabling faster content updates and enhancing the Copilot experience for your users.

What you can do to prepare:

As an admin, when prompted, update the OAuth application scopes and reauthenticate the connection to enable webhooks. Updated documentation will be available closer to release to guide you through the process.
