We’re expanding the availability of Copilot in Microsoft 365 admin centers to include the Teams admin center, with new scenarios available in Public Preview. This enhancement helps admins work more efficiently by using natural language to manage Teams and Microsoft 365 settings, find information, and troubleshoot issues.
When this will happen:
Public Preview (Worldwide) rollout will begin in June 2025 and is expected to complete by July 2025.
How this will affect your organization:
Admins in tenants with at least one Microsoft 365 Copilot license will automatically gain access to Copilot in Microsoft 365 admin centers, including the Teams admin center. No additional licensing is required.
With Copilot, admins can:
- Ask natural language questions about Microsoft 365 and Teams administration.
- Locate users, policies, and phone numbers.
- Troubleshoot common issues.
- Access new scenarios as they are added throughout the preview.
Copilot will be enabled by default for eligible tenants.
What you can do to prepare:
No action is required to enable Copilot in the Teams admin center.
You can disable Copilot in Microsoft 365 admin centers from the Copilot Control System in Microsoft 365 admin center.
If you want to exclude specific admins from accessing Copilot in Microsoft 365 admin centers, add them to a security group named CopilotForM365AdminExclude. No description or additional configuration is needed — membership in this group will prevent access to the Copilot experience.
