I've been waiting for today for the last week or so. Been sat, waiting for Apple to release their latest developer betas to the world. "Why?", I hear you ask. Well, firstly, I'm always eager to test the latest Apple software updates. But this time, I was more excited to test my latest automation...
Publishing Apple software updates on this blog, as soon as they're released.
Relying on Apple's Developer Releases RSS feed (https://developer.apple.com/news/releases/rss/releases.rss), I've always received an automated email as soon as a software update was released, so that I could rush to my devices, and get it installed straight away. Now, building on top of this automation, this blog will automatically be updated as well!
As you may be aware, I'm a big fan of Microsoft Power Automate. It powers most of my daily productivity automations, and recently I've started tying it in with my blog posts (for the Microsoft 365 Message Center archive), so now I've expanded on that again to include the latest Apple software updates!
The Tophhie Cloud API received an update for this project, a new API was born that facilities this communication between Power Automate and the Tophhie Cloud Blog. It takes the software details as an input via a JSON object, uses a HTML template, fills in the blanks, and publishes it right here. All without me lifting a finger.
I'm hoping to provide a means of collaboration between the Apple community, where developers and users alike can come and comment on the latest software updates. Share what they're experiencing, their frustrations, and what they're loving.
